All Comtrol RocketPort Plus uPCI 422 cards support 3.3 and 5.0 Volt PCI bus architectures and are compatible with 64-bit 66MHz 3.3 Volt slots.

RocketPort multiport cards are ideal for peripheral control applications such as data acquisition, point-of-sale, and factory floor automation.

• Fast. The RocketPort Plus uPCI 422 card is powered by Comtrol's exclusive RocketPort chip, integrating a dedicated 44Mhz processor that enables the card to transmit-and-receive data four times faster than standard UART technology—up to 921Kbps full duplex across all ports simultaneously.
• Reliable. Along with improved throughput speed and reduced load on the host system CPU, the RocketPort chip also adds an important benefit: increased reliability, delivering one of the longest mean times between failures of any multiport serial card currently on the market.
• Efficient. RocketPort uses transmit FIFOs 16 times larger, and receive FIFOs 64 times larger, than multiport cards designed with 16550 UARTs (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitters). This helps eliminate bottlenecks at the serial controller level while conserving CPU resources.
